    hp compaq presario not recognizing ddr2

    my compaq presario f755us came with ddr2-5300 667mhz ram, i upgraded it to pc26400 but when i boot up the computer, cpuz and windows still detect it as pc25300 at 667mhz, not 800mhz

    anyone has any ideas wuts wrong? im lost

    Well depending on your chipset , the max RAM speed must be 667MHz and not 800MHz so your PC2-6400 RAM will downclock to PC2-5300 RAM speeds... so u haven't really upgraded.... u might want to return the new RAM unless u have a greater amount... but its quite weird as it should detect 800MHz DDR2 RAM running at 667MHz and not 667MHz RAM.
