Hi I have a dv6000 I thought when i bought it, it had a dedicated graphics card (7400 go) but turns out it has a integrated one. I am looking into purchasing a new motherboard with a much better graphics card but have had no luck in finiding anything. is it even possible to get a new motherboard with a superior graphics card? if so can anyone refer me to a place that sells ones compatiable with my computer(has an intel processor by the way)

It won't happen, in order to fit a new MB into the chassis you have now you'd need to make sure the layout (USB ports, VGA, etc.) is exactly the same or it won't fit. If you want a better GPU you'll have to look at getting another laptop.

Even if you do get your hands on the motherboard for that notebook with the dedicated graphics card, I doubt it will fit in the chassis; HP tends to not include certain ports on the integrated graphics models and thus your chassis is slightly different.

One way or another, the motherboard would probably cost $300 - $500 . . . it just doesn't make sense. The Go7400 is way outdated anyway, it will have trouble playing newer games. Post a thread in the What Should I Buy forum and we'll help you find a new laptop.

If you look on ebay you can get a santa rosa motherboard with an 8400m gs with 128mb or 256mb dedicated. This will give you near twice the preformance ( 800 3d marks vs 1500 ). You will need a socket P cpu then. The rest of your hardware will be the same.
Oh and it will cost you around $200 on ebay plus you get to sell your old motherboard.
