    but where is the thread about notebook manufacturers and OEMs.

    like who makes which laptops for such and such brand?

    it should really be a sticky, anyway thanks.

    The problem with that is it changes frequently and it would need to be updated regularly. Notebook sellers often change ODMs.

    Don't think there is one, though it would be a neat idea. I know that the "manufacturers" can switch ODMs from generation to generation.

    With HP, my older V5000 was built by Compal and my newest dv6000 is from Quanta.............

    Like how damn hard it use to find anything on this website perhaps, or to keep up with the threads you're interested in..? I wrestle with this on a daily basis....

    I found nothing much either with Search. Fifteen threads came up mentioning ODMs in some way, but nothing really useful in them......
