ATI/AMD doesn't do 3D gaming (stereoscopic) that I know of. You need a nvidia card for that.

3D is a gimmick. It will get old quick, don't waste your money.
-
I believe you can .. see for example mobility radeon hd 5650 - 3D Vision Blog
-
it'll happen some day ... for me that day is definitely after the need for any sort of glasses are needed, unless they get 1500dpi display goggles like they were building out for back in the 80s.

It has 'happened' many times already - does not change the 'gimmick' status for most computer users.

They recently adopted it. See: HP Envy 17 3D.

I'm no gamer, but most of the expert reviews I've read suggest that 3D gaming is the next logical step forward for that industry. The question is not whether 3D will last, rather, in what form it will ultimately become universally adaptable.
There are a lot of 3D forms under experimentation right now, but most early adapters in technologies such as these, are typically left holding the bag of short lived trial and error products--recall laser discs?
Anyway, the good news is that most current 3D capable monitors only charge a slight premium above that of regular 2D units. So at worst, you pay a bit more for a feature you may only use for a short time.
p.s. I'm happy to admit I only bought two laser discs.

Speaking of which, I laugh at people who bought HD DVD stuff...
3D I think is over-hyped right now, time to play the waiting game! -
save ur money.. 3D is meant to flop.. its just too expensive!

That's because you're evil.
I very nearly took the HD DVD route, but hesitated just long enough for them to throw in the towel.
I don't think it's over-hyped since it doesn't really make any promises. It's just still new. And like any new technology, there's bound to be pit falls in development along the way. -

I tend to wait it out, early adopters always get pwned in the end. Look at plasma TV's when they first came out. 4 grand for like a 60" and they were crap back then. We bought a nice 63" Sony projection TV for 2 grand, still works great after 11+ years.
I guess it's the curse of being an early adopter.
i wana buy 3D LCD ..... can i ??!!!!
