hi. i'm a bit confused about something.

i have a vga out on a sony laptop. it is the only output.

i am going to buy a vga out to S-video (for an older tv) cable.

this wouldn't give me sound on the tv though right?

how would i go about doing that. thanks.

    9 mm plug.

Edit: 3.5 mm plug. I'm confusing bullets with headphone jacks.

you want an 1/8" audio cable. basically, you want to plug into your headphone port.

If you have RCA inputs (small red, white, and yellow ports) on your TV, you can use a 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable.

Ya, use those, I got a pair of them from when I bought a Canon camera, they could be used for video/sound to tv, or your mp3 player to your home theater system
