What is the difference between them? Which one is better to buy? Are there any benchmarks of them?
-
That entirely depends on your needs. For most people, a Core i3 processor is more than enough. A Core i5 is plenty powerful enough for, I'd venture to say 99% of computer users. A Core i7 processor is only really necessary if you know you have some CPU-bound intensive software that you need to run.
-
Edit:
It all depends on your needs. What do you plan on doing with laptop? Just surfing the web, or something like video encoding? -
i3 is like older Core 2 Duo processor. But it uses Hyper Threading Technology. i5 is like i3, but it can automatically overclocks itself. i7 are dual core and quad core that are like i5, but faster.
Short, but sweet. -

there you go

Speed/power/performance. What is your real question? What are your needs.
-
for most common tasks such as surfing, playing casual games on facebook, word processing, watching videos on youtube and such the i3 is more than enough power.
the i5 would allow you to use more cpu intensive applications like photo editing, watching hi def movies, playing most computer games, data processing.
the i7 would best be used in applications that are multicore aware. typical programs would be high end games like GTA IV, video editing and rendering, sound editing, and possibly vm ware and animation programs. -
I'll bet an i9 processor will run forum searches faster than anything........
-
-
Yeah, definitely. The limiting factor for searching a forum has got to be your own CPU; the server has nothing to do with it.
-
ummm, isnt this thread more on sarcasm and less on usefulness?
