are those two processors differ a lot in terms of performance? I have a chance to get the timelineX 3820TG, but is a little hesitant because of its i5-430M processor. Whats the difference between the two processors and would the difference be almost negligible?

It all depends on what you will be doing with the notebook - what kind of applications, etc. Also, what is the price difference between the processors.

The i5-430M is 2.26GHz on both cores and can turbo boost itself to 2.53GHz.
The i5-450M is 2.40GHz on both cores and can turbo boost itself to 2.66GHz.

At most there will be a ~10% difference between the two, which will only be noticeable if you are running the processor at 100% capacity for extended periods of time.

I'll do some gaming, probably like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2. Also, I like to surf the net a lot and watch tons of videos on youtube or downloaded files.

If that's all, I won't feel that much difference? Also, what activities forces computer to run its processor at 100%? like intense gaming?

You honestly won't notice a difference for any of those tasks. Some games might tax your CPU but your GPU is what will limit your performance. Even in the most intensive situations such as video editing, the difference in performance is minimal and typically not worth the price of the upgrade.
