hi there, i just bought a used Toshiba Qosmio X770, its got a i7 2630qm,8gb ram, and a 1.5gb 560m. I ran Prime 95 and Furmark at the same time and left them on for 5 minutes, the 560m settled at 75 degrees, and the i7 2630m- cores are in the range of 95-98 degrees.
Are these temps bad? I think the Cpu's temps are bad.
The cpu idles at like 50- these are the idle temps after prime 95, but here usually at like 30-40.
Whats the best thermal paste? ive used icd 7 but i didnt like it. thanks mx2 or artic silver 5?

Did you just try cleaning out the fans/ducts for dust/debris?

Does it throttle at those temperatures?

If it isn't throttling at those temps and the chassis is as clean as you can get it, then (probably) all is as good as it can get (in your model notebook).

That's about normal for Prime95 unless you have an excellent cooling system. But as tiller states, clean out fans/ducts with some compressed air and/or some alcohol on a cotton swab. If you're adept, change the thermal paste. But the chips run hot when fully taxed.
