Hi all,
I am hoping to get a new laptop next month and the computer I am looking at (MSI GT75) has the following options:
i7-8850H/GTX 1070 ($2200-$2400)
i7-8850H/GTX 1080 ($2800)
i9-8950HK/GTX 1080 ($3100)
Beside the graphics card/processor, everything between the different models is the same.
My hope is to potentially get this computer on Black Friday/CyberMonday 2018. My question is, if I end deciding on one of the GTX 1080 models, would be worth it to spend the extra $300 or so to get the i9 processor?
Thanks for all your help.

Depends greatly on your use.
If you do CPU heavy stuff, I'd say it's worth it. -

The i9 and the SLI variants needs TWO PSUs.

Are you going to overclock?
If not, very little difference.

But look for results specific to the GT75 if you can. Lots of mobile i7's and i9's are put under similarly constrained cooling (not like GT75) which compresses their results
8850H has a +4 turbo bin maximum which would take it to 4.4 (6 core) to 4.7 (single) maximum turbo, so if a power unlimited BIOS is available I'd expect it to be very, very close to an overclocked i9. -
