    i7-10700K "default" profile in XTU has weird values. Which ones are the REAL default values?

    I noticed this oddity while investigating why my undervolt in XTU (6.5.2.40) is not sticking after rebooting.

    So, there is a "default" profile in XTU which is meant to bring the settings back to normal. But my default profile is weird. These are its settings, which I find questionable:

    Turbo Boost Power Max: 30.000 W
    Turbo Boost Short Power Max: 67.000 W
    Turbo Boost Power Time Window: 16 seconds
    Processor Core/Cache IccMax: 245.000 A

    Before I could notice that there might be something wrong with these values, I applied them, but I noticed that these settings too, just like my undervolt, don't stick after rebooting (EXCEPT for Processor Core/Cache IccMax, these two stick). The system reverts to these following values instead, which maybe are the REAL default settings?

    Turbo Boost Power Max: 125.000 W
    Turbo Boost Short Power Max: 160.000 W
    Turbo Boost Power Time Window: 56 seconds
    Processor Core/Cache IccMax: 210.000 A XTU values.png

    The default XTU profile cannot be overwritten, so it's not possible that I accidentally messed it up and created a wrong default profile.

    So which settings should I have? The first set, or the second set? Or something else entirely?
    And who made that default profile? XTU itself, detecting things automatically? Or...?


    And while we're at it, any clue why my undervolt (-0.120 V at Core/Cache Voltage Offset) doesn't stick after reboot? The (yet another) strange thing is that, after rebooting, this value of -0.120 V doesn't show up in the Active column (in the top right of XTU), which shows the default value of 0.000 V instead, BUT it does show up in both the Default and At Boot columns in XTU (the attached picture doesn't show this). Like, the undervolt setting is being remembered as a default/at boot value incorrectly (because it should be 0.000, right?), but it's not being implemented as an active value?

    I've had corruption of the default profile before when using XTU. I believe a reinstall of the program set it right for me.

    There should be a "Run at Startup" option or something similar I believe. What I noticed in the past was it might take a minute after loading to desktop for the XTU program to actually load and apply its settings. For those reasons and more I instead use ThrottleStop for CPU tuning and simply made a Task Scheduler entry to start the program at every user login.

    Uninstalled, restarted, installed, restarted.

    The default profile got fixed for these three:
    Turbo Boost Power Max
    Turbo Boost Short Power Max
    Turbo Boost Power Time Window

    but Processor Core/Cache IccMax still shows an Active and Proposed value of 245.000 A, while Default and At Boot values still say 210.000 A, just like my picture in the first post. Not sure why I would have this, and I wonder if I should try to bring 245.000 A back down to 210.000 A, or not.
    I couldn't find any "run at startup" option...

    I tried to undervolt again, and first of all I noticed that, after applying a setting of -0.120 V, under the +/- column, which represents a difference in percentage between the Default and Proposed value, there was no difference, despite the Default and Proposed value being different. As you can see in this picture:

    Then, I restarted the system and gave it some time to load and apply its setting, like you said. Not only it didn't work, but again, the Default and At Boot settings were the ones that changed, while Active and Proposed values were back to default, at 0.000 V. As you can see below.

    I also checked inside HWiNFO64 and the undervolt was not applied.

    I guess I am going to try ThrottleStop, but before I am done with XTU for good, should that Processor Core/Cache IccMax value be 245.000 A or 210.000 A? Since I read that before messing with ThrottleStop, all XTU values must be back to their default.
