    It should be able to do 400Mhz more on stock clocks (3820QM)... 3940XM has unlocked multipliers...

    the 3940xm is unlocked so long as your bios will allow it. If XTU is not allowed from the bios you are in trouble. Usually if you have a 3820QM and the +4 bins are lowed in XTU then the unlocked 3940xm should work too.

    Another option is ifn the bios is UEFI then the UEFI table can be modified for top bin speed. Mine is hard set in UEFI table for the +400 and it works well. Advantage is since no XTU the speed boost translates to Linux as well.
