Couple of problems with that...![]()
If I choose the GTX 780M, I can only have 4GB RAM and no SSD or Blu-Ray due to my budget.

That AnandTech article with benchmarks is great.
The difference between 4700MQ and 4900MQ with GTX 780M GPU is 3.7 FPS on average between 7 games in Full HD and Ultra Settings. I think it's up for everyone to decide whether the upgraded CPU is worth it. Personally I find that the cost increase of about $350-400 in some models for 4FPS gaming performance is a bit too much, you would probably get more from overclocking GPU. So I would stick to 4700MQ unless you plan to do video encoding and other CPU intensive tasks.
For GTX 765M according to this review http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...m-review-using-sager-np7330-clevo-w230st.html the difference was 1 FPS on average between i5-4200M and i7-4800MQ over 10 games. So it's quite clear that not every game benefits from quadcore that much especially with a weaker GPU. -
These are my final chosen specs:
I've been restricted by my gf to a budget of around £1,300 so thats the best I could come up with for that amount.
Still a beastly system for sure! -

My thoughts, just to increase the post count in this thread some more lol
Gaming wise? No. 4700MQ will not bottleneck a GTX 780M. The only place you will notice improvement is on some games. But they have to be CPU dependant. And even there you will like Ellatan mention, gain very little FPS. With games that are not CPU dependant, its all about the GPU.
Software development+Gaming wise? Yes, unless you like waiting a little extra for projects to import/export/compile.
Overclocking wise? Yes, because 4800MQ overclocks better.
Is it worth it?
google that video btwgeko95gek likes this.
i7-4700MQ worth upgrading to the i7-4800MQ?
