    You can but not by very much.

    All you can do is alter the multiplier for the different core settings so for example, as default 4 cores = 3.2GHz

    You can change this to 3.4GHz maximum

    I currently have the following set

    1 core = 3.6GHz
    2 core = 3.5GHz
    3 core = 3.4GHz
    4 core = 3.4GHz

    I've also tweaked my memory settings so its running at 1866 rather than 1600.

    i7-4800 can OC to 3.9GHz and i7-4900 to 4.2GHz 4 cores. There is an advantage to having a higher end CPU this time around. With Ivy Bridge they could all clock +400MHz. So the difference between i7-3740QM and i7-3840QM was 100MHz. Not worth the extra cash.

    They "can" be OCd to this level theoretically, but I am unable to get beyond a steady 3.7 on a 4900 under load without increasing the TDP and current. If you just crank the multipliers up, the system will either shut down (if you have watchdog enabled) or clock down as soon as any load is put on the CPU. I'd be interested in what others are achieving on their cpus. I got mine to run at 3.9(4 core) under 100% load, but I had the TDP (turbo boost power max) and the Processor current limit up pretty high. I've since backed down to a -75 undervolt(Dynamic CPU voltage offset) with the TDP and current at stock and it runs great at 39, 38, 37, 37, never dipping below 3.7GHz even under 100% load.

    I believe the 4930MX is the only mobil Haswell that has a TDP of higher than 47W, with a stock setting of 58W. This would seem to leave a lot more room for cranking up those multipliers, so even though the stock speed is only .2GHz faster than the 4900, I'm thinking you could easily get this up into the 4.3-4.4GHz range. Anyone plunked down the $950? I'm thinking in a year or so, after the next generation is out, I may look to buy one.

    This cpu runs so hot i doubt i would want to OC mine.

    @Black Dog

    Head to the MSI forums, check for Dragon Edition owners. They could help you out.

    What games benefit from 200mhz overclock???In crysis 3 i cant overclock cause its already hot but in some others i can cause i get lower temp..can you give me some games that benefit from 100mhz or 200mhz overclock?

    Minimum frame rates can be improved from CPU overclocking, but it's hardly a necessity for most games. Off the top of my head Crysis 3 is a game that benefits from CPU OCing can easily be seen.

    Planning on getting a laptop with a 4700mq soon. Just wondering whats the temperature like when playing Battlefield 4? Definitely interested in overclocking the processor too if it actually gives a decent boost.

    depens on cooling system inside notebook..i never tested battlefield 4 temp but i guess its between 80-85C..cause the fan goes louder after 85C and i would notice that..tested today few games with 200mhz overclock and the only game that gained a bit is Gta 4.While playing with 200mhz overclock gta 4 i got 84C max temp which is okay.In crysis 3 after playing for about 20minutes with the overclock i got max temp 95C.So the conclussion is that 200mhz gives my system another 8-9C more heat and its only worth to turn that on in gta 4 cause it doesnt exceed 85C while playing

    With Haswell even running stock turbo can see TDP throttling with heavy loads such as Linpack and at 3.4GHz power requirement is over 70W so the cooling and power delivery of the laptop needs to be up to it to take advantage of the limited unlocked extra turbo bins.
