    i7-4710mq hotter than 4700mq ?

    First post =) looking at the clevo w370ss and it comes in either cpu, of course going to repaste it if i buy it but just wondering if the 10 model gets alot hotter!? and other question, do you think it is less quality on the 10's cilicone being a remake of last years cpu? =) THNX!

    No they are basically the same chip. If anything the 4710MQ would be better quality because it's using a mature manufacturing process.

    For most of your CPU spec questions, you can use this site: ARK | Your Source for Intel® Product Information. Select the appropriate CPU model and if it's heat you're concerned about look at the TDP spec, if it is the same, 47 W in the case of the two CPUs you mentioned, you should expect them to heat up about the same.

    If your'e so worried about heat, get the 4702MQ.... It's a 37W quad core i7..

    ...and doesn't run cooler than the regular 47W quad-cores in any meaningful way.

    I had to replace my dead 4700MQ ES with a new 4710MQ OEM and I would say it runs slightly cooler when using prime95, maybe up to -5 Celsius lower. It runs about the same in gaming, around 60 to 65 celcius.
