Hi all, I'm wondering why my i7-620M is maxing at 3059.6 MHz (133MHz x 23) only instead of 3333MHz ?
Intel i7-620M spec
Clock Speed ---------- 2.66 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency - 3.333 GHz
What's the better way to push the CPU to max speed?

Well, the multiplier of 23 is the max it can reach on two cores, so perhaps that's the cause? You would have to force it to use only one core for 25 to occur. Just because your benchmark uses one core doesn't necessarily mean the other will be disabled.
You may want to explicitly disable a core, or just try a more demanding benchmark that will fully load your CPU. -

i7-620M owners... please confirm if your i7-620M can reach the manufactures turbo boost spec (3.33Ghz/ multiplier x23). -
620m is rated at 2.66 base clock, 3.06 with turbo boost on 2 cores and 3.33 with turbo boost on 1 core.
However you will likely never see these maximums reached even when stressing on 1 to 4 threads as there are always background processes that must run -

Thanks for the heads up.
Yes. I guess you background process is the problem.
I didn't know that its only 3.06GHz on 2 cores before I did the tests. I noticed it while doing the tests using prime.
PS: I can't find the rated speed for the i7-620M turbo boost on 2 cores from Intel site. Any other way to check core-i processor speed (turbo boost) on 2 cores base from their max turbo frequency? -
I don't know where they're taken from, but I go by the Turbo specs on Wikipedia.
i7-620M 3.333GHz Turbo Boost??
