I made a too complicated and long post and decided to cut it short:
At the moment I have a laptop with i7-3820QM, which is fast but my laptop performance overall is showing its age.
And I have expanded my hobby to photography other than gaming.

Right now with the eGPU solution, I am hoping to have a Razer Blade sized laptop with i7-6820HQ and TB3, so that I can do some photo editing outside while having the possibility that I can plug in eGPU dock for full gaming at home. (I don't do 4K gaming and do not play overly demanding games)

I wonder if it is actually feasible because while the TDP is the same between i7 6820HQ and i7 6700HQ, I cannot find any 15" light weight laptop has this combination.
I was surprised it was impossible to find i7-6920HQ but more so when I realise most top laptop CPU only offers i7-6700HQ, even if the brand is sager which traditionally offers lots of customisation.

Any idea? I am not in a hurry to purchase one since eGPU is still a very new technology and I would probably wait until pascal is out, but I am asking it just out of curiosity at the moment.
(sorry if this is not the right place to ask)

You can read some discussion about the 6820HQ in the 14" Dell E5470 thread. There's probably the same CPU option in the 15" Dell E5570.

Also 14 or 15" lightweight and thin machines will be poorly suited for these processors, cooling is key. They run hotter than this class of machine is suited for. This is a Dual Core ULV type of machine in that application. eGPU is in it''s infancy. Wait until it has driver support and proper support. Or get thicker and heavier and tote the load if you expect good cooling and the machine lasting you very long.

Thanks for all the reply, E5570 looks quite close to what I like.
Good to know it is already available in some form, but anyone knows why the CPU ain't available in other product?
I know that MSI GS40 review sample had a i7-6820HK (or HQ) and somehow it isn't available for mass production.

I don't mind the heat that much because I don't expect lightroom to push the heat that much.
As for gaming, I will be using it on a cooling dock, which would solve the heat by a margin.

I do agree on the eGPU is still in its infant stage but I don't see myself waiting that many more years until the next tech is out.

Cooling Dock won't solve the heat issue enough. Appropriate cooling needs thicker.
