Does anyone know if an Intel i7-720QM Quad Core CPU 1.6GHz (2.8GHz Turbo) is compatible with my ASUS N53Jn?

My N53 currently has an i5-450M in it.

I've noticed the ASUS N61Jq uses the i7-720QM and that it also has the Mobile IntelĀ® HM55 Express Chipset (same chipset as N53Jn).

I've compared the two CPU's at Compare IntelĀ® Products, but I don't know.

Most likely if your laptop model has a discrete graphics solution that doesn't do switchable and your laptop has offered i7 Quads in other models, then upgrading to the i7 Quad is no problem at all.

As stated above, if there are other models that offer the i7 and you have discreet graphics, it should work. Update your BIOS to the latest also. And also make sure your laptop can cool that extra 10 watts.
