    Greetings everyone,

my friend's iBook G4 broke the other day. Unfortunately he didn't have an extended warranty, the tech guy in the service told him that the motherboard died and it'd cost so much that he'd be better off buying a new laptop.

I'm not really a hardware expert now, but if I figured if we were able to find what's wrong with the MB (because the serviceman didn't say anything specific) or maybe buy one at eBay, we could eventually get the computer running again.

So, any ideas how to find out what went wrong and maybe some other place to look for a MB over the net?

if you need a new motherboard, you don't need to know specifically what is wrong with it as you won't be able to fix it. if you know you need a new MB, your only option is to buy one and install it or buy a new computer.

    try ebay.
