i am running an IMB thinkpad T23 with a 16mb video memory, its an s3 if that means anything to you guys, anyways i was told that it was upgradable and according to the system info its on a pci slot. now as far as i was aware laptops dont usualy have a pci slot due to thier size.....anyways if someone knows if it is upgradable or not would be nice to know as i am looking for a conformation and finding info on the web is NOT my strongest attrabute

It isn't replaceable, it's a soldered-on PCI slot card.....
Find a used cheap T43 with a Radeon.. -
It is built-on PCI card, so you cannot replace it. That card really sucks unfortunately, I had one in my old Fujitsu Siemens, but for net/office/DVD is good.

The S3 graphics card in your laptop is an onboard chip. The graphics card is recognized as using the PCI bus, because the S3 chip is connected to the PCI lane on the chipset. The S3 graphics card is basically just a chip on the motherboard. It is irreplacable and non upgradeable.
