    Hi everyone,

    I think everyone know speedswitcher.
does anyone knows battery doubler from daschundsoftware?

it seems a good software to combine with speedswitcher which doesn't work with the lcd brightness and hd/dvd spin.

    does anyone try this soft?

    thanks

If it does work, it would be nice, i barely get 1 1/2 hours if i am carefull. But would be willing to try anything to extend it, but i obviously don't want to screw something up with something unknown. Does anyone know of this company, or tried it?

I've tried this soft. it seems to increase the autonomy of about 15%.
not a lot, but with speedswitcher, I used to have 1 hours 45 min of power for my laptop when playing a dvd, now I am almost reaching 3 hours. not so bad.

    Hi,

just have a look in google with speedswitcherxp.
I don't remember the web site.

It's usefull with cpu made for mobile pentium m centrino, amd m, etc...
it just reduce the cpu's speed when full power is not need. that's why it increase the power life.

    http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/

Above is the link for SpeedswitchXP. I just installed it on my Sony VAIO S260 just to see what I could get under extreme conditions. So all I did was make sure I had a 100% charge, I set SpeedswitchXP to Maximum Battery settings and made sure my LCD brightness was at it's lowest. My usage of the notebook was just email, web browsing, and instant messenging with Wifi on. I noticed that SpeedswitchXP was dropping my 1.7GHz down in between 100MHz and 600MHz on Max Battery mode. That was totally fine for the tasks I had at hand. On Dynamic switching mode my processor ran at 600MHz most of the time and bumped up to 1.7GHz when needed.

So on my battery test I achieved 4 hours....then I hibernated for a few hours. Brought it back to life for another 2 hours and 10 minutes. I'm impressed with the program's processor control doing regular non-CPU intensive tasks! Normally with just the regular VAIO software being used I could get just over 4 hours of battery life. Try it out guys and report back in as I am interested if this is just an isolated finding or if it really does work this well. Thanks!
