help me choose im thinking about getting the 7200 rpm but im worried about heat, noise, battery life issues on the 7200 rpm vs 5400 rpm hard drives, is there significant performance improvements over the 5400 rpm? im planning on gaming , watching movies , surf the net
any 1520 owners with 7200 rpm hard drive can shed me some light ty

I believe a larger 5400 RPM HDD offsets the higher RPMs of a smaller 7200. Hard drives only affect load times in gaming/entertainment, not performance. In the end it's personal choice, really (size vs speed).

hi thelazyone22, ty for the quick response
im either choosing the 160gb with 5400 rpm or the 7200 rpm with 120 gb at no extra cost! to me the extra size is not that important the speed, loading is more important . what im most concern about are the heat, noise, and battery life on the inspiron 1520 with 7200 rpm hard drive. could some one with the 1520 tell me if its ok to order the 7200 rpm ? -

Yes...a faster HD is one of the best upgrades you can make. Why? Because its performance increase is felt and used everytime the HD is accessed.
inspiron 1520 with 7200rpm or 5400 rpm?
