    installing xp to a external hard drive

    hello guys

    i have a probem with my laptop its dell inspiron 1525.. hard drive port on mainboard is broken. so im gonna install my xp to my external hdd.. i format my external hdd as ntfs or fat it copised the xp files right after i restart... after bios screen.. i see windows symbol then gives me blue screen error...

    is there anyway that i can install my xp to my external hdd with no problem... i have been told to change jumpers in the mainboard but i wanna do it as my last option....

    i appreciate u guys if share ur knowledge or experience

    Yes. it can be done. With a bit of modding. ;)

    I have XP installed on my external HDD. works pretty good too :D
