One further question for gurus:
Yesterday I downloaded this 14kb driver file: ad_w2kxp_omega_2653_7z_updated.exe.torrent
And - then tonite I downloaded this 25.2MB driver file :
5-8_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_25203
Why such a difference in size. Am I missing something here?
I haven't installed either as I'm waiting for some kind soul to give us some clear and simple instructions!
Thanks to all who answer!

hey, ozzer22, for your difference in file size question, that is because the 14kb file is a torrent file, which means it is a link to download the actual file with p2p file-sharing programs like bittorrent or bitcomet. i do not own the actual product or know what the product is, so i am unable to provide you with instructions.

Ozzer,
I can't seem to find this notebook in Gateway's list of notebooks. All I could find with the S-7500 series, but this notebook doesn't have an ATI graphics card, just the Intel GMA 900 series card.
If you're sure that this unit has an ATI Graphics card (can be verified in Device Manager or running DXDIAG from Start -> Run menu) then it's easy to install. The file looks like the official driver from ATI's website. In this case, you'll need to download the ATI Mobility Modder from www.DriverHeaven.net/patje and mod your install files.
Below are the instructions:
1. Download the lastest drivers from ATI
2. Run the downloaded EXE file, whehn it errors, just canel out. The files will be extracted to the C:\ATI folder on your HDD
3. Run the ATI Modder utility in this folder and follow the instructions provided from DriverHeaven.net
4. Re-run Setup.exe in ATI folder and it should install properly
5. Done.
Just make 100% sure you have an ATI card otherwise the attempt to install these drivers with these instructions would be a waste of your time.
