    hi guys,

anyone of you tried to use 22" lcd monitors like samsung 226gw or acer p223w as external monitor? Can intel 945gm video could maximize the 1680 x 1050 resolution?

The Intel 945GM chipset which has the Intel GMA950 integrated graphics card can output 1680 x 1050 just fine.
One problem you might encounter is the quality of the output. If your computer has no DVI out port, then connecting to the 22" monitor via VGA might make text appear blurred.

actually i'm using Dell 640m with only intel 945gm video card and vga connector.

What do you suggest? should I get a 22" or stick to 19" which is just fine in 1440x900.

The difference between the lower quality VGA and the higher quality DVI will be less noticeable on the smaller 19" monitor with the lower resolution.
So, with the 22" screen, you will be getting more viewing space and more pixels, but might experience blurry text, especially with small fonts. With the 19", you will get less viewing space and less pixels, but the amount of blur of the text will most likely be less noticeable.

I've run 24" lcd's via the GMA 950 on my Asus W5F, the output isn't that bad, only thing you have to do is make sure you run the auto calibration (or do it manually) once everything is set up and you'll have rather good output.
