I am currently looking to configure my notebook with this processor, but I am unsure if this is a Santa Rosa chip or not. It has a 800mhz fsb like the Santa Rosa chips, but all of the sites I have researched does not list this chip as being a Santa Rosa. These sites do not include this chip in any other section either, I have tried to research this chip but I am getting no where, any help is appreciated.

This is a Santa Rosa chip since it uses the P CPU socket.

As for difference in performance, it's pretty much negligible for gaming as evident through these benchmarks. There's not a drastic difference between the T5470 and say... a T7300, unless you're using this for hardcore rendering or video editing.

Your main bottleneck would be the GPU nowadays, not CPU as Core 2 Duos have plenty of power for the average user.

(Benchmarks for 1.5ghz Core 2 Duo as opposed to 1.6ghz Core 2 Duo being discussed.)

The post above me is 100% correct. :)

Any notebook that has the Intel 965 series chipsets is Santa Rosa. The T5470 is a good performer for the money and I can't see how you could go wrong with it.

If it's important to you, the T5470 does not support virtualization extensions, which provides some processor hardware acceleration to virtualization. The T5600 and T7100 do support virtualization extensions.
