    u could compare the X9000 with the X6800 (2933MHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz, LGA 775, 75W and costs 1 grand)....

    technically, the q6600 should be faster than the laptop x9000... for a much cheaper price...

    the x9000 and x6800 are on completely different levels though.... aside from the fact that they're both "extreme" processors, i wouldn't compare them with each other...

    It is not logical to compare desktop and mobile CPUs in the first place :D , But the Q6600 is a quad core, whereas both the X9000 and the X6800 are dual cores..!! :D and they are very much comparable since the X6800 is the only extreme edition dual core available for desktops..!! :p
    Anywayz, if that is the case, the QX9650 is a better choice, due to its fairly low cost as compared to other extreme edition processors.. :)
    You could look out for CPUs here.... :)

    If OP means performance then according to this PassMark, link. E8500 3.16Ghz score 2,276 vs X9000 2,184.

    thanks a lot for the link.I wanted to know if my desktop processor athlon x2 dual core 6400+ is faster then mobile x9000.Now i see that x9000 is better.Thank you so much :D
