hello, i am going to buy a laptop having an intel core duo t2250 processor..the clock frequency is 1.73 ghz while the bus fsb is 533 mhz..
is it good for multimedia, video encoding and 3d games?
in comparison to core duo t2400(1.8ghz and fsb 667mhz) and core duo t2500(2ghz and 667mhz fsb) will the difference be noticed?

Sandro28,
Yes any of the dual core processors will be great for multimedia, encoding and gaming...The difference in speed will really only be noticed if you're doing ALOT of really processor intensive things, I'm not sure what the price break down is but consider either bumping up to 1.83 Ghz or back down to 1.66 based on what you need your laptop for. The fsb is the same on all the core duo processors. Hope this helps. -
Hi Vespoli, thanks for replying..regarding the fsb, they are the same for t2300, t2400 and t2500..they are all 667 mhz but not the same for the new one t2250 its fsb is lower..it is 533 mhz instead of 667..will this have a negative effect on the quality or the speed of multimedia or video encoding? by the way the frequency of t2250 is higher than t2300..it is 1.73ghz but as i said the fsb is lower..the brand of the laptop with t2250 is toshiba a100..i can take asus with t2400 with even lower price but the GPU of toshiba is better..this is why i prefer toshiba..

Oops, sorry about the fsb speed mixup...to be honest you probably won't notice much difference between any of the dual cores, the fsb won't make much difference but then again every little bit does help and it makes you look cooler
.
What I mean as far as changing processors is that maybe if you don't need the 1.73 Ghz, consider going for the 1.66 t2300. It will have the faster fsb and remember that down the road when merom is released you will always have the option/ability to drop in the core 2 duo. I'm not familiar with those laptops but which gpus are featured?
Depending on whether or not you want to do heavy gaming the asus might be a better choice which will offer a little better quality. Toshiba used to be king of laptops but they've kinda slipped a little lately. Hope this helps.
