    Can the processor intel i7-2630qm be overclocked ? if yes , any issues regarding heat and performance after overclocking ?

    3-5% is the most you can get via BCLK though. Practically speaking, only the 2920XM is overclockable.

    You can still try to raise the BCLK with a pinmod, there are a lot of very informative threads here about this. You might need to adjust the voltage as well to keep it stable... no idea whether it will work, haven't seen it done on a SB cpu yet.

    It is not very overclockable. I have an m17x and the Ability for overclock is pretty pathetic. And I believe the only way to overclock is through the bios I don't think any software works. I was able to achieve a stable bclk of 105.6. So 105.6 times the base multiplier of 20 is 2112. 28 multiplier for single core turbo mode that's 2956.8. So it's not that much of a gain.
