hi i have a dell inspiron 1420 laptop with 965M chipset board. i've dual boot ( XP-SP2 & Vista HP). i followed the prcedure given by you to change from ATA to AHCI mode and it worked very smoothly.Thank You Very Much.

but i've a problem i installed intel rapid stroage Technology Version 9.6.0.1014 in XP and Vista. when i run XP there is no problem application is runnig smoothely, but when i ren Vista HP an error is displaying at the system tray icon " application is not Running", when i try to mannully run the program then it is working, but system is not shutting down when i put off the system, power LED is glowing continuosly. evey time i am doing forced shutdown by pressing power button. i unistall this version and install the old version 7.0.0.1020, then application is running smoothely and shut down ploblem also solved.

but i didn't understand why this is happening.

    CAN YOU FIX THIS PROBLEM?

when i see the drivers in my system foder for Vista HP there are two drivers " iastor.sys" and "iastorv.sys" and and i think the the system is not using driver "iastorv.sys". is there any problem here?

yup, in a multiboot (or VM environment) you are going to have to load the correct drivers/applications for each OS when you are booted/running in each individual OS. Intel supplies separate installers for their Storage Manager in XP and Vista/7 flavors (and the various server OS as well).

Hopefully, you haven't made the classic rookie mistake of creating a marginally functional multiboot environment and are trying to use the same partition and directory structure for both OS loads.
