I just got this dell inspiron 1545 from bestbuy on sale for a cheap price. Unfortunately my older laptop died on me from the summer heat (bleh hp's) so I opted for a dell from bestbuy instead. Its great and all but I know for sure the t3400 processor is a huge bottleneck in a lot of processing.

Any benefits to outweigh the cost of upgrading to a t7700?

I take it that you already max out your ram and look into a faster drive first?

    cheers ...

Four times as much cache coupled with a ~10% increase in clock should net you a decent performance increase in CPU-intensive applications. Is your system capable of supporting a T7700?

Looks like it is using the GM45 chipset that should support the T7700. Don't take my word for it though
