Basically any 2.5" form HDD should fit. Don't really need to get it from Dell.

The best 500GB 5400rpm HDD currently should be the Western Digital Scorpio Blue (WD5000BEVT).

If you also need to buy a new keyboard, you have to buy it from dell, it seems like your keyboard is missing some letters ;)

And yes, it will fit just fine with any SATA 2.5" harddrive. You have to buy a 2.5" not a 3.5". You seem to have checked out a desktop HDD.

Geez. Relax man, was just a joke, hence the " ;)"

The correct seagate 500GB hdd is ST9500325AS that's a notebook HDD.

I just bought a hitachi 2.5"320 gb 7200 rpm for $79 . so far a great quiet fast drive . and that desktop drive you got , return it ! all kinds of trouble with those drives , just returned 3 of them as they went dead in 3 months . look on the web , lots of reports of those drives going dead .

can you please state your questions in clear english?
Slang and abbreviations are very hard to follow

Please make sure to get the right harddrive. You need a SATA 2.5" drive.
3.5" drives are huge in comparison to a standard laptop drive.
