What model is your Acer laptop? What happen when you connect the iPhone? I have no problem on my laptop (see sig) with a built-in Cam. The iPhone shows up and is recognized as Apple iPhone.

It is the aspire 9420. every time i connect the iphone (only if there are pictures saved on the phone) it says that it has found new camera hardware then a blue screen pops up and the computer goes through a load of checks and reboots it self. Apple have told me that it is a conflict between the iphone and the orbicam and that i should remove the drivers but i try to remove the drivers and then reboot the computer and they are back and the problem continues. Any ideas on how to remove the drivers for the orbicam? I know i should not have to do this but i would like the iphone to work properly. I have mailed Acer but have had no reply.

This is a brute force approach. Go in device manager and disable the orbicam, then remove the driver, then reboot. The driver should not load anymore.

I just talked to a friend at Acer. Did you try getting a new driver for the orbicam. This seems to be a old problem as show here:

Please uninstall old orbicam drvier and software from add/remove program, and then system have to restart..
After that, install the logtech service driver package and restart after installation finished.

The original iPhone also had this problem with various webcam drivers, including Logitech.

I found that the simplest way around it was to transfer all your photos to your computer via email, uploadit, FSH or whatever, and then delete all the pictures on your phone (this applies only to pictures you have taken with your iPhone, i.e. in the Camera Roll folder). Then you should stop getting the blue screens.

Try it. It's not really a solution, more of a workaround. But I find it easier than the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
