What I wanted to do is buy a sager laptop with a 500 GB HD (because It will put me at $1500 to get $100 discount). Once I get that Buy a 120GB SSD put it as primary and move 500 GB HD to secondary. The sager 8170 is what i was going to get.

If I do this do I have to move the 500 GB into a different slot? Or can I just add the SSD to my spare slot then just change bio settings?

for the np8170 you could install it in the 2nd slot and just select which will be the primary drive (and setting it to AHCI).

IF you do a clean install (recommended) of Windows make sure only the SSD is in the laptop. Smart move BTW

Its very simple to add a secondary drive to the Sager NP8170 / Clevo P170HMx aka the 17" choice.

If you would have gotten the 15" model then you need a Optical drive caddy.
