If you do any intensive gaming, then it might be worth getting a newer laptop and selling this one off. Otherwise, you're best off adding a gig of RAM.... very simply and inexpensive upgrade :)
    And, Welcome to NBR ;)

Not if it still works for you, and you can always add more ram and a bigger/faster hd.

Depending on your budget, I say purchase the Sony SZ780 from Portable One with a clean install. Had mine for a little less than two months and very happy with no BSOD's yet.

I owned an IBM Thinkpad 800Mhz, 512MB RAM, 14.1", 20GB HDD for seven years and it's still running, but now in service with my daughter who is getting good use from it. I have since then purchased a laptop, Vaio SZ780 with the latest bell and whistles. It will last a long time. If you can upgrade at a nominal cost, then do so, otherwise consider your options out there. There are many choicies. Good luck!

No need to buy a new laptop unless its severely broken or uncapable. Best you can do is upgrade RAM/HDD and maybe even CPU

this laptop seems fine to me and is still better then most 5/600 euro laptops they sell now a days ^^. Im still using a 5 year old acer 2.4ghz 512mb ram 64mb onboard shared vid memory and still does the job on regular tasks. You just cant game on it and it heavy and does 45min on a battry :p
So unless you play alot of games on it i dont see any reason why to buy a new laptop maby add 1Gb ram like others said.

Bro, your laptop is better than mine. ( intel centrino 1.6 ghz, 1.5G ram, mobility radeon 9000 64 mb ). Almost 4 years in service and still going stroing.Even used windows vista basic " shok man ". But my advantage is the magnesium alloy casing of my notebook last very very long time. Save your money for the future unless you ask your parents to buy you a new notebook.
By the way minse is Asus M2C and I love this notebook. But I'm planning to buy hp compaq 8510p.

Pop in another GB of RAM and possbily a bigger/faster HDD and your laptop will be fine. Heck, it's fine now really. But these simple and cheap upgrades will only lengthen it's life. A CPU upgrade is even possible here.
