i just bought an ASUS F3Sv-A1 and i would like to know if the NVIDIA 8600 in it is the best there is, or if there is something better out there for a laptop, just curious :D (want bragging rights maybe)

i been hearing stuff about the 8800 and the 8700 but i dont think those are out yet (right?) and you cant get them in a 15' screen anyway

I think the best mobile video card out right now is still the 7950GTX. The 8600GT is the best video card in Nvidia's 8-series.

Well, they are in different categories. The 8600m GT is the best X10 video card as the GTX is the best X9, correct me if i'm wrong.

The 8600 M GT will be imo more future proof because most games will be more towards X10.

By the time games absolutely REQUIRE a DX10 card, it'll be time for newer hardware than the 8600. Until then, the 7950gtx will be spanking the 8600gt in pretty much everything.

Which means there will be a better than 8600M GT Card for the X10, but by then the GTX will not be as good as the next generations of X10 Cards. Still saying the 8600M GT will work better on LATER games (perhaps) than the GTX. But by then there will be newer versions of it. ;)

No, the best card right now is the 8700M GT, which is as good as the 7950 GTX. Until the 8800M GTX comes out, the 8700M GT will remain the best card and DX10 as well.
