    the first picture is of the laptop and the second is when I connected the laptop to an external screen.

    So is this a faulty screen or a faulty graphics card?

    If in warranty, contact Acer, they should repace it for you. ;)

    Concurring with hardware, but try also to uninstall and reinstall the graphic driver first, might stretch the life out a little longer.

    The stripes are in BIOS, so i'd say it's as good as dead as the stripes will be there anyways :p
