Hello. I read a review of a compaq laptop with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 TK-53...
i always thought that the Athlon mobiles were simply the desktop athlon x2 that was put onto a laptop motherboard but wikipedia states that the TK-53 was released last month, this year. on august 2007.... is that right??? i remember seeing this processor before on laptops...
shouldnt the athlon have more cache if its a more recent model?
then again, wasnt the Turion designed specifically for mobile use?
which CPU was created and used first???

The TL series is the dual core Turion in May '06.
Then after that the MK series was released as a single core budget cpu. Then after that, the TK series was released as a dual core budget cpu. Thus that is what it is: a budget dual core mobile AMD cpu. -
It is basically a TL w/half the cache. I believe it steps down to 900Mhz not 800Mhz that is why TK not TL.
Edit: It has been listed as a Turion on some PC's in the past. -
The TK-53 is a little bit faster than the TL-52 and a bit slower than the TL-56, and supposedly an tiny little less power efficient.
is this info accurate?-Athlon & Turion
