    i want to have extra ram on my laptop but im not sure if i can run win 7 64b.

    Yes, every Core 2 Duo and later processor has 64-bit support (except the Atom). It will run Win7 64-bit just fine.

    Atom is about the only thing Intel makes that doesn't support 64bit.

    64bit support was available before Core2 duo.
    Prescott core Pentium 4's supported it (Think Pentium D and Celeron D, and Extreme processors).
