Ok i have a 9 cell and 6 cell ion battery. I let my laptop run with the stock battery with no ac adapter cable connector and once depleted i fully charge the battery correct? While the battery is charging I can go on the laptop correct? I have no operating system on my system currently, but I vista ultimate ready to go. Do i just put in the ultimate disc for it to install the OS? Also is there anything else I should do before I start installing games and the such?

I'm not sure much about proper laptop batter usage, because people give mixed reviews. I believe it is best usage for a battery to let it deplete and then fully recharge it every time you use it. If you don't' do this and plug your battery in everyday all the time, It is good to at least power cycle it once a month. (let it deplete, then fully recharge).

While the battery is charging it is perfectly safe and acceptable to use your laptop.

If I were you, I would install Windows 7 onto your laptop. It runs great and is well supported by Microsoft. Windows 7 > Vista.

Just head on over to www.microsoft.com and find the windows 7 RC operating system and you are good to go!

Before installing games and the such I would go through your window 7 action center and set up automatic updates, virus protection, ect. There really is not much to it!
