to make a long story short, my HP in my sig was damaged but the hd still worked...so i took the hd out

my question is I have a 2.5" sata usb hd enclosure and I want to get my programs off of the HP hd and move them to my current sony laptop hd.

since I dont have 2 laptops can I put the HP hd in the enclosure and still be able to transfer my programs to my sony by using the laplink software.

Ive never used laplink before but when i read about it says it needs to be installed on both of the computers and then linked together VIA usb cord...well I only have 1 laptop (no desktop) but since 2.5" hd enclosure has a usb port could I still link the enclousre to my sony laptop and transfer my programs?

hope im not too confusing...any help would be appreciated!!

    thanks!

You don't need Laplink Software at all.

If I understand your post correctly, since you already have a 2.5" SATA USB HDD enclosure, simply put the original HP notebook drive into there. Connect it to your Sony Laptop via USB cable, Windows should detect it automatically and mount the drive as "D:" or "E:" or whatever, and all you need to do is copy/drag drop.

    Really basic stuff.
