    dell xps just bought bought from US has adapter reading 100-240, bt de power cable reads 125V, can i still use ma laptop connected to a 240V source by just using a 240V cable without damaging laptop? pls help

    Yes you can, the voltages used in adapters are made to convert voltages in both NA and Europe.

    Yeah, make sure the cable is rated for 240V or higher - the adaptor can handle it fine.

    Just don't use the 125V cable with a conversion plug - that is asking for trouble.
