are there any? im kind of assuming no. i know most of the ribbon cables are different depending on the manufacturer, and thinkpads have an extra portion of cable for a usb type "ultraport" thing on the top, and an led light, but other than that, are there like certain pins that are like dvi or something? it would be a shame if all modern laptop displays only worked with the manufacturers motherboard and graphics configuration wouldnt it?
to give you some perspective, the display in question is a 15.4",
(i think) from a gateway something or another thats kind of old, came with a celeron m, so that general generation of laptops. i will repost with the model number in the gateway section if i need to ask a more specific question i guess.

    thanks in advance
