    laptop screen degradation over time?

    Does an LCD display itself degrade over time (colors or anything?) I know the backlight gets dimmer, so I am considering replacing the backlight in my 4 year old laptop. Would that make it look good as new or does the LCD itself degrade?

    Yes LCD's quality do degrade overtime

    my lcd tv has a counter of like 100,000hrs life (cant remember the exact numbers)
