Kind of looking at a 3D screen without the glasses.
The LCD seems to be distorted. I'm wondering if my screen is defective.
All the letters seem to have a pink hue around them. And most of the background is pink.

Try checking whether it is pink even if you are in the BIOS or try hooking up an external display to the laptop. Either one of those will tell you whether the issue is the screen or something else.

Graphics card could be on the way out....Also have you tried updating or reinstalling the drivers?

I second the suggestion. If your laptop can power up an external display successfully with no hitches, then it's the problem of your laptop screen. If you can't for some reason, then there is a good chance your graphic card went out.
