    hey people,

i have just recently purchased my first laptop (refurbished), a nec versa p8310 specifically.

as soon as i began using it, i realized that the integrated laptop speakers - which are both located above the keyboard on the far top left and right corners were causing this audible vibrating/rattling sound which appears to be coming from both ends (left and right) of the keyboard when the speakers play a high pitch sound such as from high notes in songs, peoples' voices on youtube, instrumental orchestras and low-quality songs etc. it occurs at volumes of all levels but as the volume goes up, it gets worse.

on the left side, it seems to occur around the tab, caps lock, shift, q, a, z key area. on the right side it happens around the numpad keys. however, it happens more frequently and is way more audible on the left side of the keyboard.

also, i do not think it is a driver/software issue because when i plug in my earphones the sound is perfectly clear without any vibration or rattling noise, so this leads me to believe there is something wrong with the hardware.

does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it this minor but extremely annoying problem?

    thanks.

I've hears some people resolving this with a new audio driver. To try it, go to the website of the manufacturer of your audiochip and download the appropriate drivers.

If that does not work you may want to search the Dell forum for 'rattling' as it happens sometimes to Latitude models. Maybe their solution can work for you too.

thank you for your reply, i'll give it a try and let you know if it works.

edit; i just downloaded and installed the newest drivers for realtek hd audio, but the problem still persists.. i'll give looking around the forums for a solution a go.

edit2; there seems to be quite a lot of people on this forum that have got a similar problem, i think, but no one has seemed to fix it. :(
