hey can anyone tell me what video cards will fit in a laptop?

The majority of laptops available today can not be upgraded. They are integrated into the motherboard, so you can't buy one separately and install it. If you really want to, you can find a notebook with MXM support which allows you to upgrade the video card.

He asked which ones will fit into notebooks, not if you can upgrade them...
All video cards out will fit in them, however the more powerful however will be in larger notebooks of course.
Laptops with the most powerful desktop GPUs come out usually a few months or so after the desktop version comes out. -
I just figured that if you were trying to fit a GPU into a notebook you would be upgrading the current one on it, but I suppose if you're building one from scratch...
-
which one fit on the M170 and can it be upgrade?
-
be more specific, please. -
There's a list of upgradeable MXM lappies in my sig.
A lot of others (Dell, Clevo, Toshiba,...) also have a discrete card solution, but iy is proprietary and therefore purely depending on the manu's goodwill. -
Yes, all GPU's come in different sizes. Take the 7800GTX...(the thing is a beast), and that card will only fit into some 17inch notebooks. Why i say some? Because not all 17 inch notebooks can have that card. Reason it cant go into some, is size of course, and heat build up.
What notebook will this be for?
laptop video card
