    hello everyone
i have a broken lcd panel on my x53/k53 asus, so i have to buy a new one to fix it, the original one was a chimei N156BGE-L21, i could just buy the same buy i wonder if i could put a better display on it
i have read that a 1080p panel needs a dual-chanel LVDS cable, it is the same with a 1600*900 panel ?

    how about a better 720p panel :

i have looked around and i found this screens
    Innolux Corporation same with original
SAMSUNG LTN156AT02 or LTN156AT05 i'm not sure if it does fit
maybe there are other screen from LG or AUO

mine is glossy, is a matte one better ?
if you can advise me with a good panel, i would really appreciate that, thank you

Check here: Panelook.com You can compare all of them and pick the one you like. Just make sure to ask the sellers prior buying. Yes, you'll need 2ch LVDS for 1600x900 as well, but it's not such a big deal if you have your laptop's schematics.

the problrm with the LVDS in the X53/K53 is about the webcam, since the wire for it is in the original LVDS so if i put a 2ch LVDS i will loose the webcam and i need it :(
thank you for the link i'll see what i can get

If that is the case you will have to stay with the display and cable that allows you to use the webcam. Meaning you will be stuck with Stock that came with laptop and only upgrade would be if the manufacture has that option then you can still have webcam otherwise you will end up getting the same replacement display for the broken one.

ok i understand that, but how about a better 720p display, it will work since it is the same resolution and use a single chanel LVDS.
i mean better contrast, better viewing angle ....., thank you

edit: i'm not an expert, but from what i found on the panelook database, the original shimei display is one of the best 1366×768 panel !!!
specialy for the viewing angle 45/45/20/45 (R/L/U/D), it also has a 650:1 contrast, but only 220 lumin wich i found is the case of most panel
some panels have 500:1 contrast and 300 of 400 lumin but only 40/40/15/20 viewing angle, so the picture will look bad if i'm not exactely front of the display :(

if some one have good information about how to shoose a good panel, i'll be glad to hear from him, thank you
