The problem is that i cannot enter into the BIOS settings after upgrading the BIOS firmware ... and there is no way i can boot dos from dvd or usb because at the time of upgrading the bios.. the stupid secure boot feature was turned on.. now i cannot get to bios settings to turn it off. and even if i try to flash the 97ww firmware from windows it gives me an error saying that ROM is old or same as the current one and the flash process gets aborted.. even if someone can tell me the correct command line switch to skip the version checking for "PhoenixSCT flash tool" which is available at lenovo support site.. it would be very helpful. moderators and admins please help me out.
    Thanking in advance.

I can access the efi shell via booting through a usb pendrive.. if some one can give me efi binary which can flash phoenix bios with the procedure that would also be very helpful.. i have the .cap file of the update that i extracted from the .exe package.

From W8/W8.1 hold the shift button and click restart from the shutdown menu. This will give you options, click "Troubleshoot" then "Advanced Options" then " UEFI Firmware Settings". This will take you to the BIOS setup where you can disable secureboot.

tried that too.. it doesn't work...nothing happens windows boots directly.. actually i had to modify the nvram boot information in order to add grub, after that i cannot get into bios settings.. the only possible solution i can think of is to reflash the BIOS but as mentioned in the first post above, since the versions are same the BIOS flash process is not working.. any solutions for that guys??

    That's strange.

    Try running this.

UEFI Secure Boot Checkup (Windows 8 Only)

What does it show for boot order? You could also try it's restart to firmware option.

Other option would be to remove the HDD as SteveT suggested but leave it without any other boot options. Usually if there are no boot devices the UEFI will run the BIOS setup.

Not sure this is easy for you. If you remove the cmos battery and then press power button for 30 sec, the BIOS usually set back to default setting.
