    so i wanna get a usb sound card for my laptop.
    i want to be able to connect it through an optical cord.
    i know this is a kockoff thing but sometimes ebay crap works just as good.

    would that honestly give me true 5.1 surround sound?

    and are these things cpu hogs?

    ill be willing to spend up to like 60 bucks for a decent one but if its not nessesary i wont
