    longevity of the dvd and hd content

    dvd has hugely penetrated the market. everyone has a dvd player. most people have dvd recorders.

    high quality dvd rips usually come out to about CD size. sometimes they come out larger, maybe 1 GB.

    how large would a high quality blu ray / hd dvd rip come out to be? could you fit it on a dvd?

    all thoughts welcomed.

    Well, iv seen HDDVD rips in h.264 which are about 6.5GB, so theres hope in any case.
